Once this movie got going it had its moments. The twist was good. But this film is full of A list, talented, actors phoning it in for that fat Netflix paycheck. Also they had millennial and Gen X actors earnestly saying lines like “miss me with that” and “you’re just salty”. Kyle Chandler deserves better.

In the end a mother’s love was enough to save the world from a planet eating giant. I felt this was quite boring and almost entirely devoid of any heart whatsoever. Somehow it felt long but almost nothing actually happened in the movie. in the first third they built a fun futuristic past world that the movie lives in, and then they immediately left the planet for boring cgi Marvel™ outer space. That was disappointing. Galactus was an extremely boring, and ultimately totally impotent villain. There were major issues with the sound design and mixing. Maybe a dozen lines of dialogue were completely muffled during action sequences. If it was a choice, it was a bad one. If it was unintentional that’s even worse?
