Hamnet
I went into the theater knowing NOTHING about the origin piece Hamlet by William Shakespeare. I came out the theater in complete awe by what i have watched.
first of all, Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal were the only two people i can see in the roles selected for. the casting was amazing, with brilliant performances by everyone, but Jessie and Paul put on Oscar-worthy acts.
The score was absolutely gut wrenching, complimenting the most depressing scenes to humans, but mothers especially. The cinematography was picture perfect, capturing the raw and passionate yet dreadful acts of the cast, keeping the audience engaged at all times.
i am definitely going to watch this film again due to being a bit confused on the 3rd act. not due to how the film was portrayed, but due to my negligence of knowledge of the origin novel/piece. Regardless, this is a perfect film all around. Hamnet directed by Chloe Zhao is a must watch on the big screens preferably.
I remain a huge fan of Paul Mescal and a new fan of Jessie Buckley!
