Midnight Mass
How convenient I just so happened to finish this on Easter Sunday🤣. This might quite literally be my favourite tv show that I’ve ever seen, I’m not kidding. This is a perfect show. I’m already a massive Flanagan head, I love the guy but this is without a doubt the best thing I’ve seen him do by a long shot. I was absolutely hooked from the very start, this thing is directed and written to actual perfection, I’ve heard a lot of people complain about Flanagan monologues but I find them incredible, they’re moving, thoughtful and crafted so so well. There were so many times I would forget I was even watching a horror because of how much I was invested in what these characters were saying. That’s another thing, this isn’t heavy on its horror and I really like that, it kind of just sneaks up on you. There are long stretches where it is literally just a drama and then it will show you something that just shook me to my core. One of those few pieces of media that actually put the shots up me🤣. I think a lot of that is helped with how mysterious the entire story is, everything is incredibly vague and I never knew where it was going and that made it so exciting to watch. The performances are all phenomenal but I thought Kate Siegel and Hamish Linklater were out of this world in particular. So many complex characters that were given so much depth and life, everyone had such a unique story that was given lots of time. Absolutely adored this from start to finish. Also, Fuck you Bev Keane.
