Ok yap sesh 🫦🫦 I can’t put into words how much I adore this film. It does everything so beautifully from the story build-up all the way to the earth-shattering twists nearing the end; no parts within this 1hr and 41min film ever felt rushed or dragged on. Even though this is like my 1000th time seeing this movie, it still conveys the same emotions as when I first saw it and I end up a crying mess every. single.  time. And when I tell you that nothing else, and I mean NOTHING ELSE will ever, EVER compare to the way this film has impacted me.. I 100% mean it. Plus, have I mentioned the soundtrack?????!!!! RADWIMPS produced some of the most emotional and heart-wringing music I have ever heard in Japanese animation, and I remember spending months and years just listening to this movie’s album. The way the songs were able to easily transcend language on different magnitudes and leave such lasting soulful impressions is witchcraft to me… And don’t get me STARTED on the visuals. Genuinely so stunning and breathtaking in a way that makes me refuse it was all animated and not part of a real-life’s dream. The way the settings were wonderfully brought to life through meticulous usage of shapes and colors makes this film a true stepping stone in the animation industry. Seeing how the comet looked on my TV as I saw it etch and split the sky for the first time will forever be a deeply-rooted core memory of mine along with witnessing every other wallpaper-worthy frame inside this movie  Your Name rightfully deserves a spot in the anime Hall of Fame and nothing else will ever ever ever top it imo
