omggg i was scrolling thru channels on the tv while staying at my parents house (yay snowstorm!!!) (my mom was randomly watching the royal rumble like 3 weeks late ??? she guessed hangman [shes a lil lost pardon her] was going to win and then went to bed) and i saw this had started a lil bit earlier so i was like omg im gonna put this on i love this movie and hellooo divine timing i caught it right as russell and carl meet for the first time 😭  which was like the best possible time because i think if i were to watch the opening sequence right now i would have no choice but to END MY SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!! love it sm but as we may know i tend to cry a little Too Much sometimes and i simply cannot handle that rn… fawkkk i love this movie so much (and does it rly matter that i coincidentally perfectly avoided the opening sequence, since i cry so much throughout the rest of the movie anyway? 🥲)  i totally understand some ppl’s take of being underwhelmed by the rest of the movie with how flawless the opening sequence is, but i do nottt agree!!! it is always so much fun following carl and russell discover the spirit of adventure (heh) and all the emosh that come with it, from the grief to the wholesomeness to the growth to the whimsy ugh i JUST LOVE!!!!!!!!!!! so much thought and love put into all of it, there are so many teensie lil details that are so tender and earnest its imposs to not adore it with ur whole heart. every time my tears dry they are already forming again! its just a masterpiece!!!  squirrel!!!!!
