live with your head in the clouds

“Here’s to the ones that dream.” When Mia and Sebastian share a nostalgic smile at the end of the movie, it perfectly symbolizes Mia’s audition story about her aunt jumping into a river in France. Her aunt says she would do it all over again despite the consequences, just as Mia and Sebastian seem to feel about their relationship. In the end, they both accomplish their dream thanks to one another. Mia gets the role in France, thanks to Sebastian, and Sebastian starts his club under the name Mia suggested. The sacrifice they had to make to achieve this was choosing their careers over staying together. The smile shows the mutual feeling of gratitude between the two and how they would do it all over again.
