Very underrated adaptation of the 1986 Sondheim Musical. Unfortunately I have not seen the original so I cant compare the two, but this is one of the best musical films of the 21th century yet. The plot is strong, and well suited for a musical. I liked that it stayed close to the original Grimm fairytales and did not "Americanise" it. Sometimes people die and life is cruel. Personally, the second act was a little bit too chaotic for me. There was a lot of character development, themes as family, ambivolence of good/bad and others were handled well so I still really liked the film overall. The movie also really deserved its AA nomination for costume design which was top notch and Meryl Streep in her supporting role as the witch was (unsurprisingly) phenomenal. I also found the performance of the rest of the cast, in particular Blunt, Corden, Kendrick and Crawford, very convincing.

Ducky tie is back! I hope the baby is gonna give the series an interesting spin, because it feels more and more of the same

Interesting concept at the end. If you are taken hostage for 2 days, being frightened but physically fine, would you take 1 mil to stay there longer or just go if you had the option? I do believe there are some irregularities. Of course the Professor fucked up a little, but why meddle so much with Raquel? Letting Angel come in his home was stupid as well, certainly as he had another room prepared for the situation. But the most annoying thing is how he dealt with Raquels mom. It felt stupid and too intense for no reason.
