Having a flawless filmography is a remarkable achievement, but the truly remarkable thing is the consistency of vision, of ambition, of execution on every single film. There’s no filler, there’s no compromise, there’s not even a hint of mediocrity. At this level of trajectory, it’s not a matter of if he’s going to be considered among the all time greats, it’s a matter of when. And with a few more films of this quality, the discussion won’t even be close.
