Possession
“i feel nothing for no one”
literally best breakup film ever. the subway scene was ittt, but anyways it’s an undeniably aggressive film reflective of zulawski’s anger and depression, finding division in every corner of the world. images of division are sewn throughout the film serving as a thematic reinforcement of the film’s obsession with divorce and separation. it captures how the uncontrollable rage and terror of disconnection are matched only by the unsettling uncertainty that division creates. overall just a pulsing, chaotic fusion of horror that’s frightening for its portrayal of a dysfunctional marriage as for its depiction of grotesque monstrosities and graphic murders. also isabelle adjani was so pretty even for how insane she was.
