PlayTime
Playtime is the epitome of slapstick comedy itself. It makes Rowan Atkinson look like amateur hour, and it could most definitely go one on one with Charles Chaplin’s entire filmography if films could get into street fights that is- don’t quote me on that though I love Chaplin. Anyway, Tati as well delivers a clever and brutally honest critique on modernization itself. Showcasing just how bleak and vague the world is becoming. Yet even through the constant mockery towards technology there’s heart, and much of it. Thats what I love about Tati, his films always have 2 cups of clever, 4 teaspoons of reality, 1 pint of humor, and the entire bag of innocence whisked gracefully with love. The result is always a heartwarming delight!
