Monster
I loved the fact that we got to see both sides of the story. in real life, it never happens. whether it’s in a court room and the victim is trying to defend itself and nobodys is on it’s side, or when it’s an kid vs adult conflict, we always know who wins.
they were so young.
I felt bad for everyone in this movie. first the mom, who’s just worried about her son and doing everything she can to help him. but she will never have the full story. then, the teacher who in my opinion is a good person who’s just trying to do his job, and got framed for something not legitimate. and of course, minato and yori.
when minato and yori were playing in the forest I loved it. There, childhood was really good illustrated. They don’t know about the dangers of going there alone, or how climbing a really high tower can be dangerous, they’re just hanging out and entertaining themselves with the smallest things.
now the big part.
« I’m cured of my sickness now. -cured of what? -I’m normal now. -you always were normal. » « there’s a girl you like near grandma’s house right? » and then, he ran back outside saying that he lied. and then, he gets hit by his father. im sick. that’s just disgusting. doing that to anyone, but espcially such young kids. my shaylas.
I really appreciated how the movie handles lbgtqia+ themes. it doesn't turn it into something big or dramatic, it just shows it through kids in a very pure way. that's what makes me cry even more. they don't fully understand yet, but the world around them already tells them it's wrong. and that's not okay.
« I like someone. I can’t tell anyone so I lie. »
one thing that also really shocked me is the actor's performances. kids, 11 or 12 year old, and they act like that? speechless.
just realized while reading reviews that they said "are we reborn" because they didn't make it. going to jump off a cliff now brb.
