Aspiring filmmaker and journalist obsessed with film in every way and can’t get enough of in Longer reviews on substack “*Don’t try to understand it, Just feel it”* - Chris Nolan (P.S slow on watching films as I’m watching Twin Peaks)

Out of all Tom Hollands spiderman films, this is probably the best and most compelling addition to the prior films it really connects emotionally and physically. I really enjoyed the story overall it’s got a more grounded feel which I really enjoy seeing because this time Peter literally has no one by his side apart from punisher in some aspects but like emotionally he’s lost everything and facing everything himself and you can see that struggle throughout with actually really solid acting from Tom Holland. I really enjoy the plot with the villains and a fun twist which adds more to certain characters and I think for the most part the film will be received positively. Technical film wise this is Toms franchise at it’s absolutely best it’s got great camera work actually mixing up the shots for web swinging with some POV shots included so the audience can experience more and then you have ACTUAL colour grading which was missing from prior films. The choreography is great aswell having some fantastic fight scenes and how swinging for the most part practical. Editing is really its highest point tho seeing all the cuts being blended is really incredible during the high instinct sequences. Also characters wise it’s got lots of emotion all blended and some fun arcs are explored even after Peter loses these characters. Also the main villain is really good overall and has a really good story. Overall a really fun film.

Christopher Nolan is truly at a peak of his career and I fully expect universal to keep giving him black cheques to do what ever the hell he wants next film will be an exorcism on camera… This film was truly magical about Odysseus travelling home from Troy after winning the Trojan war and encountering the cyclops, Circe and many more obstacles in the journey just to reunite with his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus before his wife chooses to move on to marry a suitor. The film is truly a spectacle where you don’t doubt what Nolan is doing at all. It’s filled with scenes that are almost unimaginable such as the Cyclops scene where I don’t doubt Nolan’s ability to make a horror film at all because my heart skipped many beats during that scene it was incredible truly. After the journey when Odysseus reaches home near the last 45 minutes, genuinely could be considered the greatest moments of Nolan’s career truly a master at work. It’s filled with so much raw emotion from Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon during Odyssey’s monologue it shows the true feelings Odysseus had during the battle of Troy and some of the regrets and everything and the missing of his wife going to war and doing unthinkable things** **and how he struggled. It truly is emotional but then you get one of the most badass action sequences just after where the choreography is just amazing. I think the performances are incredible quite literally from every single actress and actor such as Anne Hathaways who’s is filled with emotion and love and loyalty, also Matt Damon’s showing a character with also true loyalty, and bravery. Then also the rest of the cast such as Samantha Morton, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland are all incredible throughout. Then the extreme positive I have is Hoyte Von Hoytema and Ludwig Göransson give some of there most ambitious and incredible pieces of work I’ve ever seen where I’m blessed with some of the most beautiful cinematography and pieces of soundtrack ever seen and heard it’s truly there best work. If I had to point out negatives which I’d like to say these are quite literally nothing and don’t take anything out of the score is that pacing was a tiny bit off but sometimes your barely notice because how amazed you are at what your watching, also there are tiny little details missing from Homer story but it’s practically nothing important which creates more impact, *so id like to say there is practically no negatives at all.* Nolan really doesn’t disappoint at all he’s at truly the highest moments of his career doing his best work ever and I’d like to think he’s an inspiration to many including me, he helped me get into film as a passion and made me inspire to be like him. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it. **Thank You Nolan.**

Oppenheimer is quite literally Nolan at the top of his career and it’ll be really hard seeing him beat this masterpiece I’ll soon see tomorrow if The Odyssey does but this film is genuinely breathtaking and incredible throughout every single moment. Ludwigs score is absolutely outstanding every-time you hear it, it gets better and better and I love how it creates tension and I love the beats and tones and how it gets faster and faster creating that strong sense of urgency in a race against time, I also love how it shares to the audience Oppenheimers frame of mind it’s insane. The story and filmmaking is Ofcourse phenomenal I love the split perspectives of the story Black and White scenes is Strauss understands and the colour scenes is Oppenheimers frame of mind and I love the chopping and changing throughout and I love the pity revenge and framing Oppenheimer under a closed hearing and just the outcome and then the senate hearing scenes are also phenomenal I think that’s mostly thanks to RDJ who’s absolutely brilliant throughout I love his short monologue on how Oppenheimer has not once said he regrets a thing it adds to only the short understanding Strauss has, then we also get Rami Malek who shines in his role for only a short period and is one of the best characters in it. Also everything outside they scenes are phenomenal such as recruiting for the manhattan project and the actual making of the bomb is brillant but i actually love after it’s made and how Oppenheimer is happy with his triumph but soon as he starts giving that speech he sees these frightening images and is instantly terrified realising he’s created a weapon of mass destruction and there’s no going back. Cillian Murphy really fits his role as J Robert Oppenheimer he proved it with such a real, genuine performance showing every emotion he possibly could to portray this character. Also the rest of the cast from Florence, to Blunt, to Safdie are quite literally incredible and it’s one of the most stacked casts ever. This film utilises new IMAX cameras and Hoyte Van Hoytema and when they clash together you genuinely get some of the most beautiful images ever seen which is making me so much more excited to seeing The Odyssey. I genuinely can’t thank Nolan enough for making this incredible masterpiece which will definitely define future films and filmmaking as a whole it’s absolutely incredible. Thank You Nolan. Bring on the journey of Odysseus.

This is my most mixed Nolan film, to be honest it’s incredible like really incredible just how it’s been made and how Nolan has actually managed to show this stuff but for most of it I do struggle to understand I’ll be completely honest there but overall it’s so freaking cool how stuff is literally happening in reverse and how time is being used it’s absolutely crazy! This is Nolan’s first time working with Ludwig Goransson and this soundtrack is still incredible and creates so much tension and excitement. And I do agree with the sound mixing not being the best and sometimes it does feel like dialogue is being drowned out. But it’s not as bad as it seems. The characters work really well and the protagonist is amazing mainly by a fantastic performance from John David Washington, Rob Pat also is incredible here. Overall it’s not bad but not great.
