1917
1917. What an absolutely beautiful film. That is the only word that could possibly describe this film. Not only was this a war film, but it was about love and what you could do for your comrades. The cinematography, gorgeous. The fact that this was a single take-style film, was the most impressive aspect. The music, absolutely heart wrenching and perfect. George MacKay gave an ultimate performance and captivated me from the very beginning. Sam Mendes crafted an absolute masterpiece. Worthy of a high title. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. 1917.
For those lost at the bloody hands of the horrors that only war brings.
“War is hell.”
