Cure
I’ve watched seven and silence of the lambs but a movie like this which doesn’t try to explain itself to much but immerses you in. Doesn’t spoon feed you everything . It explaines itself at its own space . Long takes , repetitive shots of empty spaces , the sounds of machines act as a medium to wear us down and create a sense of unease and intensifies itself as it reaches the end and remains with you after the movie ends . Plot seems simple . Mesmer isn’t a person it’s an embodiment that is passed down. The mc is identified as unique by the antagonist during their meeting in the cell and the antagonist realises that he is resisting the command but accepting the truth . Transfer isn’t instant but is slow in case of mc as shown when his friend dies he doesn’t show any remorse but understands the situation . The camerawork and lighting in corners is so good and the film’s low light shots are exceptional . When mc kills the antagonist we realize that the burden has been passed as we see in the final restaurant scene where he says something to the waitress and she picks up a knife showing he is the new Mesmer . The film truly shows HOW TO MAKE A DETECTIVE-KILLER FILM 😍
