Wren, your outfits are fire. Its hard to say exactly what I like so much about this film, but I think its the way its shot. Raw and simple yet aesthetic. The plot seems simple yet complex. I find myself sympathizing with the main character, yet at the same time, I dont, and thats probably what makes the film so good. It might sound like it would be boring or indistinguishable from other movies, but that blend of simplicity and wildness create a perfect balance.

Are you fucking kidding me? I heard mixed reviews about this movie before, but I didnt think it would be that bad. Within the first 30 minutes, I already wanted to turn it off and the only reason I didnt do that was because I was watching it with my friend. This is the second movie I have ever given half a star, and honestly, Im starting to think that the first one I rated that way wasnt actually that bad after all. What is the point of all the controversy, the rapes, the violence, the shit eating, and the piss kink in this movie? I have nothing against nudity or heavy and sensitive topics in films, but here its just completely unnecessary. There is no plot, just those horrible scenes. What is this movie trying to tell us? That fascism is bad? Of course it fucking is and everyone should know that. Maybe its trying to say that politicians are bad and not trustworthy? We know that too, and I guarantee no one needs a movie full of teenage rape to make that point. At first, it felt like I was watching porn, and by the end like gore. Political cinema is important and necessary!!!!!Art is political!!!!! However, lets stop acting as if the sole measure of good criticism is how controversial it is. Something can be controversial without being entirely based on raping children You cant tell me this movie isnt some sick fulfillment of the directors fetishes.

The two lead roles were played so well that I didnt even realize that was one actress and not two different ones lol Beautiful costumes, makeup, and scenery, shortly and honestly everything in this film is beautiful. The only thing missing for me was a bit more of a more dynamic action. something to add more suspense and mystery into this movie AND DAMN VIKI IS SO FUCKING COOL, SHE IS THE VIBE!!!! I LOVE A VICTORIAN GOTHIC QUEEN WITH BLUE EYESHADOW,RED LIPSTICK AND HATE FOR HER OWN SISTER

Oh, dear Laura Palmer. A character written so realistically that I feel like I know her personally. The ending of the film is incredibly painful for me. Laura finally experiences peace,we see her smiling yet crying at the same time, which is hardly surprising, given she has just died at the hands of her own father. I also find it deeply touching that Laura is Ronettes angel, while Donna is Lauras angel. "And the angels will return"—beautiful words reminding us that good things waits for us, although, worst of all,for some, it comes only after terrible suffering. It is also worth mentioning the beautiful friendship between Donna and Laura, judging by the film alone, some might think the two arent a great match, because of how diametrically different they are, yet the girls love each other and care deeply for one another. To sum everything up,i want to say that I truly love this film.It is heartbreaking but at the same time somehow comforting
