This movie completely messes me up, like, I can literally feel it twisting me up inside. The vibe, the atmosphere —its just so... I feel like I get exactly what the main character’s going through. It’s like someone captured everything I’ve seen, felt, lived through, and put it into this movie so perfectly. It’s unsettling when both parents are just losing it, and you’re stuck not knowing where to turn, whose side to take, or even what’s going on. Why are they acting like this?
Watching, I kept asking myself so many questions: Why is the mom turning the kid against his dad? Why does she dump all this stuff on him, taking away his childhood? Why does she drag him around to that damn boyfriend, making him feel unwanted, like he doesn’t belong? It’s so messed up. Those uncomfortable conversations, her facial expressions, the gestures — it’s sick. She’s losing her mind, and she’s taking her son down with her. The kid’s just totally lost, and even worse, he’s got no one to talk to about what he’s feeling. And even if he wanted to, how could he even put it into words? He’s just so confused. God, I feel for him.
I can’t watch this movie again, but I’m grateful for it because it’s like, for the first time, I don’t have to try to understand or read my parents’ minds. I got to think about my own feelings in those moments. This movie helped me figure out my own feelings.
Thank you. It was painful, but also amazing. 💔
