Hamnet
I have recently read Hamlet by shakespeare but I didn't know the tragic inspiration of Hamnet behind the play. Jessie buckley as agnes was one of the best casting choices, the way she carried the emotion and the greif felt so REAL. And even paul mescal as shakespeare was a great choice aswell.
The film started out very colourful with lush green trees, the ocean blue sky and agnes in her vibrant red dress and will's navy blue coat and most of the 1st half was outdoors in the forest. But after Hamnet's death the film loses its colour and much of the story takes place indoors especially wide shots of the empty house symbolizing the pain, loss and Lonliness of agnes, which is just a great way of storytelling
But only at the end do the colours and outdoor shots return. The last 10 min of film is entirely music with no dialogues and yet that's the most emotional part of the film. Not even exaggerating my collar was wet with tears.
"You are brave Hamnet, you are very brave"
