When I grow up, I wanna be Suki😔

Was quietly against cosmetic surgery before this movie. Having watched it, I’ll probably cry and throw up and shoot myself in the head the next time I hear the word “Botox.” An excellent movie. I need to take like 17 showers.

I wanted to love this SO badly. I didn’t hate it, but I just feel like I’m missing the intensity and anxiety that everyone else seems to feel for this. Am I just a bad person for thinking Emma’s secret wasn’t that big of a deal? In the sense that it was a long time ago, nothing ever came of it, and she’s obviously a different person. Honestly the biggest emotion I had throughout the film—other than appreciation for Robert’s obvious sexiness—was annoyance at how dramatic (pun intended) everyone was being. I mean I get how the holier-than-thou friend was meant to be aggravating, but the constant throwing up? The difficulty in reconciling love? The struggle was the point, yes… it just didn’t land for me. It definitely raises some interesting questions regarding desensitization, how limited our abilities are to completely understand one another, how defined we are by our actions. But it never pushes these concepts to anything truly significant. The editing was fabulous though, the score totally amazing. Wasn’t a terrible watch, but definitely not a note-worthy one either.
