***“Maybe it’s good to be alone once in awhile.” “You can buff that right out.” “Tupac said there would be days like this.”*** ***“Fuck me, Bruce. Gotham needs you.“*** ***“LA is the best. I'm making a ton of new friends.“*** ***“We should get a sound bath at the integration it’s so healing.” *** *** ***A fine rewatch while I’m back in Cali on Netflix and seeing the sunset. *Taylor wants to be perceived as interesting. Ingrid wants to belong to something interesting. **I seem to want **BOTH**. *What I love about this film is it shows the multi-complex layers of everyone in this film, from the jump you see it through Ingrid’s eyes, the stalker, the wannabe, included the loneliness of losing her best friend, her mother, and trying to start a new life with something new with her BPD of creating a persona just like the girl she was inspired by in a magazine, Taylor played by Elizabeth Olsen’s character. She attaches herself to this persona and starts new like her, cutting her hair like her, reading what she’s reading, and posting and being going to the same places of her, but all these characters have a flaw, nobody’s perfect. Taylor herself is embodying what she thinks the influencer should be. She’s changed everything she is to the point where she’ll switch up in the second to hang out with someone who has more followers, down to her brother, the leech, who hangs out the Ritz talking to a billionaire gets his dick sucked by a popular influencer and attaches himself to people, but to be fair, my favorite scene is with him with a song indecision playing by Shuri, the part between him and Ingrid where they have a discussion, only because it starts so pleasant like any other conversation with a hint of deception, something I’ve noticed living in California for a long time, everyone here is nice right away, but what I love about this scene alone is considered one of my favorites is how innocent it starts off, to the point where he slowly reveals information that he knows, he knows that she has her phone passcode is Taylor’s. She does little things, the photos. He reveals everything that he has on the table what she wants from him and what he wants from her, and to me that’s a true interaction of a of an opportunist human and in solid form, he’s a transplant. he’s a transplant. I’m a transplant. I get the influencer space being in it for so long and seeing these type of personas, so he embodies a true human being that I’ve met thousands of times over. The conversation feels so fucking real and it’s beautiful in the end. He starts dancing while Ingrid is upset after the conversation blowout. It just stands the fuck out on top of that, of course, the Halloween scene between Ingrid and Taylor at the end when they argue. It was just so beautifully written. It’s so human, which I love that this movie has the connection to Joan Didion and Matt Spicer. You made a fucking masterpiece for a spell influencers out there. It’s so much you can connect to if you lived in LA, you see the environments, you see the cadence of how people are, and every form you can find this type of human connection and person because every vibe in California there is no safeguards here. We’re all struggling. I’ve dated rich people that live on the Hollywood Hills that live next to Quentin Tarantino, and he still struggles because that’s just how California is. We all have that in common that you’re living on the edge. You don’t know what’s next or what’s to come. It’s the true human experience here is something that we all have in comma, no matter what our tax bracket says it. I also love that Taylor’s husband is a charlatan and he reveals that in the pool he’s up about a fraud. He sells these portraits of him so that he can sell for thousands of dollars and it be a lie and you know, he doesn’t feel happiness in that art. So it’s interesting how everybody has their flaws that Dan Pinto’s Batman obsession, but wants to be a screenwriter, but he’s also doing all these side hustles to make ends meet. Everything’s a non-safe zone. That’s what makes this so fucking good and one of my favorite films of all time. As Taylor says,** “*it’s the best!”***

***“Fuck Me next to your dead mom” (It’s diabolical and the) “WHY DONT YOU DIE ALREADY THIS IS ALREADY HARD ENOUGH FOR ME!”*** ** Fucking ridiculous.** Bitch with the bob was diabolic. Erin is a cool as protagonist survival camp 🏕️ oriented she’s handling everything and everyone this whole damn movie 🍿 literally a good for her type film with ready or not comedy vibes. This movie is fantastic I see why it became a cult classic blueprint for a film. Can’t believe this is considered a low budget film cuz the budget being 1 million. Time and time again it’s always the films that have the most original quality style that preserves in the movie genre state. Half of these lines crack me up ***“FELIX I KNEW YOU WERE IN SOME SKETCHY SHIT *****😂” **Ti west? Acting cameo! I just love how she gives home alone vibes putting nails on the window 🪟 for Invaders just an icon! The dialogue is cunty and funny and the movie has good twists and turns! It’s on YouTube for free! The blender kill alone makes the movie! 😂

***“Sure, as long as the machines are working and you can dial 911. But you take those things away, you throw people in the dark, you scare the shit out of them - no more rules.”*** ***“As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?“*** *** “You'd think educating children would be more of a priority in this country but you'd be wrong. Governments got better things to spend our money on, like corporate hand outs and building bombs.“ *** ***“Leave it alone, David. You can't convince some people there's a fire even when their hair is burning. Denial is a powerful thing.”*** ***“You don't have much faith in humanity, do you?*** ***Ahhh! None whatsoever.”*** My first time viewing this one, saw the color cut now I’m interested in the black and white 4k cut and I’ll have to admit it’s pretty dark. This is one of those society type films where the real monsters were the humans and people in daily society being tested their morals in IR to of course being selfish pieces of trash.. the ending really seals this one going down as one of those OMG type endings in the hall of fame category. It’s dark, gloomy one of those didn’t see that coming moments. Which I knew about prior to watching this film it immediately reminded me of the long walk type of ending up existential dread feeling with a heavier morality. Down to the religious zealot causing sacrifices and volunteering themselves as the voice of god and reason. The pain of losing hope and being backed in a corner every type of character or dialogue or conflict between them to me showed a deeper picturesque. Definitely a top Stephen king series very intense storytelling.. so glad they didn’t change That ending! (This is free on YouTube rn!)
