Superman
Lois: You think everyone and everything is beautiful.
Superman: *Maybe that's the real punk rock.

I gave my absolute trust to James Gunn and he delivered one of the best Superman adaptions ever. Watching this felt like a dream come true— I felt the kid in me watching it alongside me in the theaters. She cried with me, laughed with me, and enjoyed the film with me.
This is what Superman should be. He's the Superman who cries, who gets defeated, who hesitates to hurt others even if they're his enemies. He's the Superman who saves people regardless of the circumstances—who loves, who's passionate, who cares.
This movie means everything to me and THIS is the Superman people look up to. Setting my emotions aside, i had no problem with the movie or whatsoever. it was executed perfectly. the characters are funny, dynamically balanced, and they elevate the entire film. The coloring and cinematography are vibrant— just as some superhero movies should be. it doesn't not rely on backstories, and everything is understandable even with surface-level knowledge.
But maybe the way Hawkgirl kept hoarding in every fight scene threw me off abit—but it's tolerable, to say the least. She's still Hawkgirl, and that's what matters.
Dont even get me started with Lex Luther. That man is a hater—a menace. Nicholas Hoult IS Lex Luther. I could write separate reviews for every character. That's how the actors nailed their portrayals.
I also love how James Gunn adds significance to background and side characters. A great example is Mali, the hotdog seller. The way Clark Kent wrote the front-page article about Mali when he could've written it about himself reflects the kind of person Clark Kent is. Even though Mali had a brief appearance and died so suddenly in the film, he's portrayed to be someone just as important as Superman. Moreover, the subtle reference to the ongoing war between Gaza and Israel only deepens story's message. That, to me, is just so, so beautiful.
There’s also that scene where Lois brings Superman to his parents’ house, and she looks around his room—viewers see that Clark had a normal childhood just like us. He had his favorite band, his interests, and all the things that shaped the Clark Kent we know. I think that is a very important detail in understanding Superman’s character.
