The Killing
First of all the issues. The narration saying the exact time and day of each event was not needed, although I saw that Kubrick didn’t like this either but was forced to implement it so that makes it a bit better. The acting could’ve been a lot better as well. Although Kubrick hadn’t quite developed his iconic flair at this point (his style was definitely emerging though) it was still an enjoyable film which went on to inspire amazing films such as reservoir dogs and pulp fiction. I liked the non linear structure but again the narration wasn’t needed. Shoutout to that shot where Johnny walks round the corner and it switches from the door reflection to the actual perspective which was so so smooth.
