Moonlight
I took me two days to gather up my thoughts about this, but here goes...
First things first, I had to mention that poster which is now one of my favorites! Quite simple yet stunning and the choice of colors is A+.
Okay, this movie is a masterpiece and nothing else!
The story is absolutely fascinating since, as we follow Chiron's life, we get to experience so many different feelings without ever getting bored. Chiron is such a complex and loveable character, and his over-present silence speaks volumes.
The movie prefectly tackles important topics, as no film has ever done before. And, above all, it is a heart-wrenching and unforgettable love story.
Moonlight has numerous (dare I say all?) powerful scenes and always manages to be both subtle and extremely deep. Also, the cinematography is unsurprisingly flawless.
Then, the entire cast is perfect. Mahershala Ali just killed every scene he was in, Naomie Harris was so good that it gave me chills and, of course, the three actors playing Chiron were all excellent.
I am running out of adjectives here but... Moonlight is a truly magical movie that reminded me why I love cinema so much.
Thank you Mister Barry Jenkins!
