Damn...a truly shocking experience that makes you wonder what just happened. I have seen this a couple of times few years ago, but I had forgot majority of what happens, so luckily there were some mysteries for me yet still to uncover. This is one of those rare movies with a "bad" ending. I have really not seen any movie with the same depressing and cruel ending, this kinda reflects on the real world, and the sins every one of us bathes in. The first half of the movie felt a bit slow, but the second half start to feel really tense and interesting. The contrast of Somerset being a calm and collected veteran detective and Mills being an arrogant young detective with less experience makes also a great plot point. And the killer being just a "John Doe" makes the manslaughter feel more deep and mysterious. Truly a masterpiece, even though this is probably the most depressing murder mystery movie of all time. I rate 10/10
