Some enter this world wired for greatness, while others are destined to walk the path of the “ordinary”. I love this movie because it’s the epitome that no matter what, it’s the drive that continues to push us to success. That yes even the ones who are born extraordinary do end up falling short to someone who doesn’t have an ounce of innate talent they have. One of the saddest parts of the movie is the dynamic between Jerome and Vincent. I believe at the end Jerome had come to the realization that Vincent had done more with his life than he has his own, that even though he possessed everything that would make him successful he ultimately fell short, and that someone who was born as a “de-gene-rate” had achieved his dream, pushing the predisposed limit that was chained to him. The relationship between Irene and Vincent is interesting to note because it’s a representation of people. That regardless of the shortcoming we may have, no one’s perfect. And that we should accept each other exactly the way we are. The second we create an idea that there are certain “requirements” that us ourselves must meet to be able to achieve our goals and dreams we have failed. We shouldn’t set boundaries upon ourselves, if others can do it why can’t we? I think this quote will forever stay with me, because of what it represents. “I never saved anything for the swim back.” To always put 110% and to not have a plan B. To fully commit ourselves to what’s Infront of us. Loved this movie to bits.
