Interstellar
wow.
Currently 9:09PM and have just walked out of theaters after watching the greatest film ever to grace our planet. Unfathomable, indescribable and absolutely beautiful. I cannot find enough words to be able to describe this movie at all. Are there even enough words in the English language… no for that matter any language to describe quantifiably the beauty of this movie? I do not think so
This isn’t the first time I’ve watched this movie, nor is it the second but the third. And every single time I’ve had the pleasure of bestowing my eyes upon the film that is called interstellar I have learned and understood this movie more and differently. It also has changed me every-time.
The beginning of the movie when “Cornfield chase” had begun echoing the theater that I was placed in, it sent shivers down my spine. Shivers of anticipation and excitement of what I know is to become. Murphy and Coops relationship is one I desire to have between my daughter and I. Sharing a common interest that will transcend anything “quantifiable”. The docking scene, wow. The scene where coop is in the tesseract, wow.
I am a man of many words, often having trouble to be able to contain them within the mind of my own, often speaking to my hearts content. But this movie without a shadow of a doubt has taken the inability from me to speak. I sit here in the parking lot 11 mins later after I’ve started this entry unable to find the right words to utter this movie to someone, anyone. So that the one who has not seen this movie before could understand it at some level, but this movie has to be something you experience for yourself, and even then… have you understood it? Have you walked out of that theater fully grasping as to what your mind has just witnessed?
Coop and Murphy, wow, wow and wow. The relationship them two have is like non other. For the love and connection between them to transcend space and time, for it to be tangible in the 5th dimension realm. For it to be able to convey a message so strong and so powerful that humanity has continued to evolve because of it. Although this is fiction, can love really be something that is scaled and measured? Understood? Or it is something beyond our comprehension? I hope that the relationship I have with my daughter can amount to something great, that the love I have for her can mean and inspire something on a greater scale, to be able to have a lasting affect on the people around us positively. One thing I did not notice in previous watches that I did now was that Murph wore Coops jacket as an adult almost the whole time she was on screen. Signifying the connection she had with her father for those 10 years she was with him. It created a sense of coop being there for her.
Christopher Nolan you have rocked my world.
