Anora
toosh <3the contrast between the opening and final shots were so powerful. at the start, anora’s giving a lapdance to a man with no emotional connection, completely detached and just performing a role. fast forward to the final shot, and everything’s shifted. after being mistreated by men her whole life, she finally lets her guard down. when igor holds her close, tries to comfort her, and she breaks down in his arms, it's this raw, vulnerable moment that feels like a release. she’s no longer performing, no longer pretending to be okay. it’s the first time we see her truly cry, and the contrast is so stark. where she once entertained a stranger with no emotional attachment, now she's being held by someone who sees her as a person, not just an object. it’s not just a shift in her relationship with igor, it’s the culmination of her whole life of being used and discarded, and finally, being treated with tenderness. that final moment is so so beautiful, painful, and so deeply earned after watching her remain strong throughout. leaves you thinking about the weight of everything she’s been through, and what it means to truly be cared for after years of just surviving. give the actors their flowers pls, and a diamond ring for mikey because im in love with her ♡
