Evil Does Not Exist
This film feels like a breath of crisp, fresh air — until it chokes you.Beautifully shot, with elegant music."What you do upstream will end up affecting those living downstream" - and he is not just talking about the water.
I didn’t expect it to focus so much on the city people, but it really worked, giving the film a strong "reconnecting with nature" theme, which makes the ending all the more shocking.
And yes, the ending is one of the most ambiguous I’ve ever seen, but it pairs well with an equally ambiguous main character (great performance, by the way). I like the ending for its mystic, symbolic, and poetic commentary, but I can’t say I fully understand it.I was completely enthralled by the film and kind of wished it had at least hit the 2-hour mark.
I’ve got to say, that was the greatest shot of shit I’ve ever seen — steamy!
