Fallen Angels
the movie that first captured me by its aesthetics than kept me in there through its message. life doesn't need to be straightforward. you don't need to have a reason to do some things. it's good that life is chaotic and you should love it for that.
the night life in a big city is always interesting. these people that are at the fringes of society have a whole different view to life than the regular people. their city is animalistic, it's passionate and it's momentary. while us regular people have to deal with the same tasks in our 9-5's, their lives are in a constant flux. That's the exact reason why the stories of these individuals feel so captivating.
I've never seen another movie that humanizes that life better than Fallen Angels. They are outcasts, each of them having a unique reason, and they don't know how to act around regular people. watching their jobs, their quests, their love and their relationships is almost enchanting. it's definitely a unique movie that could've only come out of Hong Kong in the 90. this is a movie that conveys emotions on a level that can't be quantified or put into words, which is why it is so special for me.
