Apocalypse Now

Wow. Even after watching the documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, which literally shows you how Apocalypse Now was made, I still struggle to believe it was made. An epic depiction of Hell on Earth. Every time they went further up the river I thought as the viewer, "I don't think I can go any further." By the time they reached the end, my brain was just as fried as everyone on screen. If you want to know what a bad trip feels like, watch Apocalypse Now. The horror, the horror.
