Not as book accurate as I thought it would be, but I didn’t really mind that? I know everyone’s mad about the lack of Henry, but genuinely I do not care, he’s never been a character that really stuck out to me. I love the romance arc between the Creature and Elizabeth, we love a good monster romance. I was definitely disappointed that they didn’t get a happy ending, but potential sequel?? Maybe?
Victor has always been thr Creature’s father, but that was solidified so much more here. Victor is a metaphor for that man who wants to be a father simply to carry on his bloodline, not to actually parent. Seeing him eventually accept the Creature as his son was so beautiful and heartwrenching.
Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi were both so so amazing in their roles. I was definitely hesitant about Elordi’s casting, but he really disappeared into the role.
