Venom

Sincerely flabbergasted by the reviews on this one, I thought this was an amazing movie. Plus it had an epic Eminem song at the end. Eddie was an awesome protagonist, I would've liked to see more of his background to see how he became the person he is, but still loved him. His relationship with Anne was definitely compelling though I honestly hope they don't end up together. The relationship between Eddie and Venom, whether you see it as romantic or platonic, was one that I was deeply invested in from their first interaction. Despite the weirdness of what was going on, the two had a love/hate thing going on that was always fun to watch. I also loved the villain, I wish we'd gotten more backstory for him, but he was an interesting character regardless. The whole "corrupt scientist who believes the ends justify the means," was really interesting. This was like a superhero/supervillain/horror/sci-fi and I was so here for it. Cannot wait to watch the sequel and when it comes out, the third one! Easily a new favorite for me.
