I don't amount to anything. And it scares me to think of leaving when I'm like that. Tender. The thing that made Kirishima fascinated with Endo (her taste in art) turned out to be borrowed from her ex rather than her own, this reflects Endo's repeated statement about her amounting to nothing, on the other hand, Kirishima (although less confident, introverted, seemingly more hopeless about her future) quickly picks up painting after Endo's lie and interprets it as her own. Her first painting was of grapes, the ones that Endo brought her from the trip she lied about, inspired by the artbook that she borrowed. She interpreted something that relates to Endo and developed it as something of her own, something she wants to pursue for her future. Earlier, Kirishima claimed to not have the faintest idea about her future in contrast to Endo who at least showed desire to go to college as a typical life path but she didn't actually want to do that. Endo is someone with a lost future, there is at best a very vague image of what the ideal future for her would look like, that is being somewhere far away, preferably in Tokyo but at the same time, and as she claims, she amounts to nothing. She doesn't take any action towards that path, her very interests which seem unique to her are borrowed. And even in her relationships, Endo doesn't choose a direction and she states that quite plainly to Kirishima "You're the one who came and found me". Although she claimed to be glad that Kirishima likes her romantically, it was never really romantic from her side, at least not by choice. As she said herself, she's someone who just goes with the flow. Kirishima just happened to be the one she stumbled upon in that flow, and so Endo went with it. Kirishima found a passion of her own, and even adopted Endo's wish of going to Tokyo while Endo stayed in the same place, in her same conditions, in that seaside she goes to after school because she doesn't want to return home.
