Minari
A24 does it again. ‘Minari is wonderful.’
A touching story that transcends culture. With themes of familial love, Minari ends in tears. Constantly asking the question of what is more important, unconditional love or selfish ambition? And by the end answering resoundingly.
Lovely score from Emile Mosseri. Tender. Capturing the wonder of childhood, the struggle of parenting and the bewilderment of old age.
The cinematography from Lachlan Milne is so peaceful. Framing the sky in a way that makes it appealing. Also, use of background sound is phenomenal with insects chirping indicating the beauty of nature.
Cast are all brilliant. Steven Yeun is the man. I absolutely love him such a talented and remarkable actor. 8-year-old Alan Kim reduced me to tears which is outstanding for such a young age.
