Seven Samurai

Seven Samurai is daunting - black and white, Japanese and a mammoth run time. But once invested in the narrative, you cannot take your eyes off it. Riddled with themes of the societal class, peace and morality. Theres a documentary feel to the entirety of proceedings making the epic nature of sprawling battles that much more impressive. Direction, editing, acting - Seven Samurai has it all. Potentially, already my favourite film score of all time. Diverse and unique, far ahead of its time.
