Michael
This film was incredibly important to my 10-year-old self and the endless amounts of YouTube videos she watched on Michael Jackson. Now at 17, I was so unbelievably happy to see how well the directors and actors handled Michael’s complex and beautiful story. The acting from Jaafar and Juliano alone was so detailed and compelling, I simply couldn’t look away. The music and dancing brought tears to my eyes, it was absolutely extraordinary. While there were details that were left out or changed it’s understandable with the restrictions from pending lawsuits and contracts. I think that it’s important to remember that this movie is meant to be a celebration of Michael’s life and long lasting impact, not another documentary. The movie was able to exude the same magic and playfulness that Michael himself had his whole life and that alone makes it five stars.
