Billy Elliot
“and i've got this fire in my body. i'm just there. flying like a bird. like electricity.” ⋆𐙚 ₊ ° ⊹
when i was pretty much dragged to watch this movie, i had no idea what was awaiting me.
billy elliot is such a heartwarming film. i have no clue why it has touched the deepest parts of my soul, but i immediately felt a very strong emotional connection to this film and that resulted in me crying about ten times throughout the whole movie. (and that is not even an exaggeration in the slightest)
the cinematography was beautiful in its own, comforting way, and the script had been written as if it were an equivalent to a warm hug. this movie is not perfect, but it is everything i ever needed — it explores a wide variety of different themes and moral values.
(and, of course, i always love it when people dance in movies !) it has filled my heart with a quite indescribable feeling — but indeed an epiphany.
this film was a mind-blowing surprise, since i hadn’t expected i would love it this much. but it has reached to me in a way, like that piece of media really silently said ‘i know exactly how you feel, and i understand’.
it is a rare feeling, and i would dare to call it bittersweet. it has ruined me, but also healed me in a way that a person can’t really explain — you have to experience it on your own. and it is so, so worth it. every single time.
shoutout to my favorite, timeika, for being patient with me, and i truly do hope you’re proud of me for absolutely loving a movie you recommended to me. without you, i indeed wouldn’t have watched this, and i thank you for that, and so much more, forever ♡
