/100 A film utterly devoid of any enjoyment, Alone in the Dark is the worst film i've ever seen, there is not a single positive thing I can even think of for it's existence. As an adaptation of the game series of the same name it holds absolutely 0 resemblance to them, and as a film it lacks any coherent plot, made utterly unwatchable by god awful action sequences, drab performances, beyond amateur editing and sound mixing. Seriously don't watch this film.
/100 Words can't express how much I hate this film. I detest it with every fibre of my being. This film somehow manages to be worst than Age of Extinction, a film I hate to no end. The plot is baffling, the acting is awful, and the action is easily the worst out of any major Hollywood blockbuster film i've ever seen, let alone a Michael Bay film. Sure, there's tons of explosions, but that gets old fast, like within the first 30 minutes I was already tired of it. The editing is just as bad as it was in Age of Extinction, the fact a Hollywood studio was allowing something like this to release astounds me. The fact this film is 2.5 hours long really exasperates how terrible this is, it becomes a god damn endurance test, and honestly it feels like torture watching it. Fuck this film.
/100 With some of the worst acting performances (Queen Sindel is laughably bad), CGI, and scripts i've ever seen in a film, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is almost impressive in how much it gets wrong, especially as it had a fairly okay previous film to build upon, but instead it decides to focus on the negatives of that film and dial it up to 11. It's only saving grace is that the opening of the film is so laughably bad that I was kind of enjoying it, but that was just the first 5 minutes, the rest of it is mind-numbingly dull.
/100 Funnily enough, The Last Knight is the reason this film isn't much lower on this ranking. That film retrospectively made me think this film was better, with the action, editing, cinematography, acting, and writing still being fucking dreadful, but hey, all aspects are just slightly better than The Last Knight... but there's one major reason why I still fucking despise this film. It's 2h45m long... holy fucking shit, why, WHY!?! This film just keeps on going, you think you've nearly got to the end of this film like 4 or 5 different times, but you check how much longer is left, and it's not even half way through. There is absolutely no reason why a film like this should be that long, and the fact the story still fucking sucks doesn't help at all. The film does have the odd line or moment that is so bad or beyond logic that it is actually funny, but yeah, this films runtime is really what makes this utterly unwatchable. Even the Dinobots don't appear until way after the 2 hour mark, which was a huge part of the marketing for this.
/100 The prior Hostel films to this aren't cinematic masterpieces, but compared to this pile of trash, they're The Godfather quality. This film has some interesting ideas that could've worked if the studio behind this actually gave the filmmakers a budget, and a half-competent script. Setting the Hunters Club in Las Vegas instead of Slovakia, intergrating a gambling twist to their sadistic torture schemes isn't a bad concept, but the execution is so poor that its just wasted. The gore is beyond dreadful, the performances range from dull, to over-the-top. The dialogue is cringey as fuck, with a god damn awful storyline not helping anything, worsened by one of the worst final acts to a film i've ever seen. The drop off in quality from Hostel: Part 2 to this film was like severe whiplash, every aspect of this film is cheap, it makes small budget horror films from the 80s/90s look like a Hollywood blockbuster in comparison, i'm convinced most of the small budget just went to capturing a few shots of Vegas, and that was it.
/100 Don't really know how you fuck up this much making a major Hollywood film, but Jaws 3D does exist, it isn't a fever dream, people did spend months making this, and a major Hollywood studio looked at this finished product and thought it was acceptable to release in cinemas. The film has 0 connection to any of the other Jaws films, and honestly is more of a glorified promotion of SeaWorld than anything else. The film kind of just goes through the motions of a barebones story, until the great white shark wrecks havoc in the final act. I honestly can't recite a single moment from the plot, the only thing I can remember is the horrific use of "3D", which just flatout is the worst i've ever seen. The 3D in this film is beyond comprehension, the fact that it was given the okay to release looking how it does is shocking, because it seriously has to be seen to believed how bad it is, it's actually so bad it becomes funny. The scene where the shark breaks the glass of an aquarium is quite possibly the worst special effect I have ever seen, I get this came out in 1983, but even some other lower budget 3D films of this era such as Friday the 13th Part III looked way better, and they still look crap. Just look up the 3D scenes of this film on YouTube on this film, because those are the only scenes you'll get any enjoyment from, and not in the way the filmmakers behind this intended.
/100 Tom Six definitely went out of his way to make this as unwatchable as possible, because this is probably the roughest film i've ever put myself through watching. This is the film that many people imagined the first Human Centipede to be, it's depraved in every aspect. This film is really fucking dark, basically ticking off every controversial subject imaginable from rape, childhood abuse, and obviously, torture. I consider myself quite good when it comes to gory films, but this one was just too depraved even for my enjoyment. The final 20 minutes of this film genuinely feels like what watching a snuff film would be like, I shouldn't be seeing any of it. The story honestly isn't the worst thing ever, and using the first film as an in-universe film that inspires the protagonist was an interesting take all things considered. But honestly the film is too depraved to get any enjoyment from it. I cannot recommend this film in any way, it's not technically terribly made, but it's intent of disgusting every viewer makes it borderline unwatchable.
/100 Clearly Eli Roth's homage to the controversial Cannibal Holocaust, this film manages to be worst than that film in every way. Whilst I enjoyed Cannibal Holocaust for a plot I kind of thought was okay, and it's cinematography, I can't say any of that enjoyment was in The Green Inferno. This film looks cheaper made than it's inspiration from 33 years prior, with flatter looking cinematography, and editing being particularly jarring. The acting isn't great by any means, the story also isn't great in any aspect. The writing isn't great, a problem which plagues a lot of Roth's films, some of the dialogue in this film is just depraved for the sake of shock value. The gore is pretty good, but that's kind of Roth's forte, so i'd be surprised if it wasn't. I just didn't like anything about this film apart from that, everything about this film feels pointless, this was just Roth's homage to Cannibal Holocaust without any of the controverisal social commentary.
/100 Basically fails in every aspect. As an adaptation of Monster Hunter, it lacks basically any connection to it, with a baffling merge of the supposed world of Monster Hunter, and the US military, anything to just jam Milla Jovovich into a Paul WS Anderson film I guess... The action is really dull, there's barely a story to talk about, it's the Milla Jovovich's character trying to find her way back to Earth. There's barely any dialogue, which would've been fine if the performances, action, or visual storytelling was good in any way, but it's really not. The editing, and cinematography are actually disorientating to the point I felt ill watching this. I guess the first 15 minutes were passable, but overall this film sucks, I don't understand how anyone can enjoy this.
/100 Not going to lie, I have very little memory of this film. Just utterly forgettable in every single way, making this list, this was the film that I completely forgot I watched. I wish I could say something more about it but uhhhhhh, I have nothing. I guess I remember it being an extremely amateur production overall.
/100 What happens when you combine the superhero genre with a Saw trap plot? I guess you get this film, but it would've been nice if they made this film with a budget, because christ this is an interesting combination that isn't fully realised because of that. The kills are dull, the plot isn't interesting at all, the acting is pretty poor (a big waste of James Remar), and the production design is appalling. I get this film had an insanely small budget (around $20,000), but honestly I just don't think it should've been made, this isn't an idea that works well on a small budget, the characters didn't feel like superheroes at all, just regular dudes in costumes instead, the film's writing didn't help at all.
/100 I get the Saw franchise has a poor overall reception, but I kind of enjoy the goofy soap opera plotlines of the latter original Saw films... except for Saw V. Saw V is genuinely awful, the worst plot overall, where the trap plot is completely predictable, with just the most unlikeable characters stuck in it. The flashbacks don't really add much the series, the gore is the worst in the series (apart from one kill that stick out). If it weren't for the whole overarching storyline that the Saw films present, i'd honestly just skip this one, but annoyingly there are key scenes that work into the Saw franchise... just don't go into this with any expectations, because it is really god damn bad, at least Saw VI was pretty good I guess.
/100 The Beverly Hills Cop franchise is no masterpiece, but they're entertaining enough, with Eddie Murphy's charisma being a huge part of it's charm... Beverly Hills Cop 3 has none of that. Eddie Murphy is extremely flat in this film which follows Axel Foley as he investigates a criminal organisation running a theme park in Los Angeles... and the whole theme park aspect suck, it's dreadful, it's awful, it makes this film drag so god damn much with terribly executed comedy routines and action set pieces revolving around this god damn place. At a runtime of 1.5 hours, it drags a lot, because none of the comedy lands, and the story isn't interesting in any way. Everything about this feels like they just making it up as they making the film, nothing about it looks like they had a complete vision before creating this. It's not completely unwatchable, but man it's not far off. If you're watching this franchise, just skip over this film, it killed the franchise for over 3 decades for a reason, and by the time we got a new film (which was pretty mediocre), they barely acknowledged this film existed.
/100 Regarded as Eddie Murphy's worst film, and one of the worst films of all time (0% Rotten Tomatoes)... it's not really that bad. Don't get me wrong, this film is still really bad, but I thought it to be more inoffensive than anything. Frankly, the biggest pitfall of this film is the concept mixed with it starring Eddie Murphy. Taking a charismatic comedy actor such as Eddie Murphy, and making a film where the story is that if his character says a 1000 words, then he'll die, is just a hugely misjudged decision. Eddie Murphy has no charisma in this film, and honestly, the plot wasn't well executed at all. It's not entertaining in any way, but I wasn't hating it, I was just kind of half-bored watching it, there were a few okay scenes, but overall it was just forgettable. I guess as a comedy-drama that might be the worst thing possible, but if the other films on this list are anything to go on, you can do so much worse.
