cunty foreword and not exactly a very captivating story to back it up which is a little trend i'm noticing with these types of movies for some reason (see: my review for frankenstein) but at least frankenstein was a bit more charming and had something to say (and isn't a flop 😭🙏) getting THEEEEEEE bela lugosi and boris karloff to star in your movie and making it unappealing and uncharming is truly hard work and it's a feat that hillyer managed to pull off janos rukh did nothing wrong especially for wanting to kill that guy that stole his wife while he was out making a world changing scientific discovery like trust me i would do so much worse the invisible man solos the invisible ray

bela lugosi and boris karloff essentially play dracula lite and frankenstein lite and it was kinda disappointing to see ?  i was really actually enjoying the story until the end like i just wanted them to fully commit and have dr vollin come out on top but i'm guessing they had to end with the bad guys having been defeated because of the hays code 👎👎👎 fuck you hays code all my homies hate the hays code also i would just like to point out the fact that several times in this movie bela lugosi's character claims that he will be "the sanest man in the world" after he finishes torturing his victims
