Vertigo
“Couldn't you like me, just me the way I am?”
vertigo got me hooked from start to finish and the plot twist made my jaw dropped. the cinematography work and editing was brilliant, i especially loved the scenes at the grave surrounded by brightly colored flower, the museum scene and the nightmare scene. they all portrayed excellently the feeling of wandering in an illusion of daydream and being drowned in a vertigo (both mentally and physically)
i'm intrigued to learn more about details from this movie that might not be noticeable on the first watch, but this was definitely one of the thriller/mystery movies that keep my eyes on the screen for the whole time. i love how the experience of observing the story unfold being so uneasy, haunting yet so immersive and mesmerising. i was able to feel everything on screen so vividly, as if i am in a vertigo myself. the only thing i wished could’ve been different is the pacing, as there are wayyy too many lengthy scene of scottie driving around san francisco, which feels really dragging
please recommend for me movies that are similar to this if you do know and enjoyed, it would means so much as I recently started to discover more movies and i haven’t watched much in the past. but i think ill definitely be checking out more of hitchcock’s movie, love his direction style!
