Nosferatu

Dark, horrific, violent, creepy, cold, isolating, demented, demonic I love the bleakness of this movie, the grotesqueness of the gore and violence. Good horror movies rarely come about, but this is one is as equally aesthetically pleasing as it is horrifying. Lily-Rose Depp is a standout performance, who horrifies with every contortion and convulsion she makes. We’ve been hit with an epidemic - a plague - if you will, of cheesy vampires these past few decades, either goofy Bela Lugosi copycats or sexy sparkly twilight vamps, but finally after so many failed renditions do we have a truly horrifying and grotesque monster in Skarsgård’s Orlok. Defoe also gives a great performance as the occultist doctor and Hoult convinces us in his terror over Orlok’s grasp over him and his wife.
