Total Recall

This movie has it all. False realities dueling for control of one another. One part spy thriller, one part revolutionary tale, one part love story. Class warfare. Elite fascistic control over a Martian society not quite different from our own. Alien relics of a forgotten past. Climate change and control over resources. Mutants. Violent action scenes. And, of course Kuato. It’s not surprising that this is based off a Philip K Dick story. This movie is as much of a whirlwind mindfuck as PKDs novels and stories. I urge any who like this to check them out, and watch Bladerunner (which was also inspired by a PKD novella by a different name). I mean the man ran on amphetamines and dog food at one point in time so you know his stories are insane (and insanely good!) Also love this movie for the practical and special effects! Very much along the lines of Carpenter and Cronenberg.
