Bring Her Back

Saw this for tonight’s regal mystery movie; was looking forward to seeing this anyway so it was nice to see it early. For the first half of the film I felt a bit like there was no story to follow, but the second half cleared it up for me. It was incredibly unsettling and made me uncomfortable, the same way I felt with Talk to Me, although I believe that to be the purpose of the Philippou brothers’ films. I did not expect the emotional depth that this film had and it left me, as well as the full theater I was in, completely stunned by the end. The performances were very well done and led me to sympathize with honestly all of the characters. Not my favorite film but definitely one worth watching. Additionally, my teeth now hurt.
