Sinners
in may and we could have a contender for one of my best movies of the year, shits making my top three at LEAST.
couldn’t be more grateful i acc got to catch it in cinemas before it was gone, despite the unfortunate circumstances of seeing it in blanch (will delve into that).
considering this was miles caton’s big break out role…man blew me away. his performance was so good in this. proud of my boy and need to see him in smt else immediately!
of fucking course the score 🙂↕️ that score was lethal idk what to tell u. kept looking over to my right thinking “u hearing this?” like i can js say it was mesmerising, WHICH FITS THE STORY ASWELL.
i had heard the robert johnson story loads before but sinners took such a great narrative from it for sammie was done so well. like i was GRIPPED and STRAPPED to my chair for the last hour of that movie.
throwing all the hot ppl (thumbs up from me) in the scary movie is always a win, rlly liked the inclusion of showing the demonic irish, can confirm.
now,,,the cinema. i don’t like repeating twitter discourse but we are COOKED as cinema goers. booked tickets online and was an empty cinema but was pleasantly surprised ok the day to see a packed room. nice. but oh my days. these two lads sat beside us, PHONE ON FULL BRIGHTNESS, SPEED TAPPING THRU INSTAGRAM STORIES, TALKING AT FULL VOLUME. BROTHER LOOK UP AND TAKE IT ALL IN I BEG. it’s also with any form of showing experimental horror, ppl would js laugh. and let me say, this movie is a funny movie, shout out slim, but i did turn into the evil pretentious film werewolf when it felt like no one was taking it serious at RLLY GOOD times. that’s all i’ll say, ive said my bits.
no but gen if u can catch it before its out of cinema u gotta. that one scene,,,yk which one, SO VISUALLY AND AUDIBLY interesting, chefs kiss. whole thing tho, cinematography, score, performance, costuming, casting, like GAWD i ate this shit up. amen.
