Interstellar
i have never cried so many times during a movie in my life. the choice between saving humanity or having a life with your kids is truly impossible to make but the movie made the perspectives of all the characters understandable. murph’s need for her dad to be there vs coop’s need to explore and find a way to survive was truly heartbreaking to watch. i was immediately crying when he left earth and when he watched the videos on the ship, reminded what he had left behind but also why he had to go: to save them. i think the biggest thing i took from it was the metaphor of love transcending any boundaries, shown especially with the father and daughter relationship being felt no matter how much time and distance had passed between them. it showed the potential of humanity saving itself and believing in something that they may never find, not relying on anything to guide them there. this film was so beautiful.
“Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space.”
“there is no ‘they’, we brought ourselves here”
