Mirror
When men want to find a meaning of life, they revisit their memories and dreams. But are our memories reliable? We alter our minds and try to create a perfect illusion that might grant us freedom, but the darkness life brings alongside the light is what makes mortality meaningful. We can’t escape it but we can accept and enjoy life as it is. After viewing this scattered memories of a man who is near to death, we cannot help but connect every bit of his dreams and memories to humanity as a hole. Characters Tarkovsky introduced to us mirror each other, they’re different but they’re all connected with the universality of existence. Tarkovsky’s art is a mirror itself to me. Time is moldable and in order to find meaning and become whole, we have to revisit our darkest moments and accept them.^_^Loved how female centric this movie was, interesting choice of art pieces we see on screen. Also, loved how deeply cultural this film was. It criticized materialism of humanity and soviet to its core lol
