La La Land
this one hit close. not just because it’s beautiful (which it is), but because i saw myself in it.
emma stone’s character. audition after audition, chasing something that feels so far away. i’ve been there. i want to become an actress too. i know what it feels like to want it so badly it aches.
and then there’s the jazz. DAYM THE JAZZ. the way sebastian talks about it, loves it, lives for it. it reminded me why i love it too. the rhythm, the improvisation, the soul of it. it makes every moment feel alive.
this movie is about dreams, but also about the price of them. and even though it broke my heart a little, it also lit a fire.
it made me want to keep going.
