Love Letter
through your letters, i find a love that transcends time.
grief dealt by sending letters through your fiancé old address, only to find out he replied to it, and she about to discover something new about her fiancé.
connected to each other simply just because of a name. it made me wish i could live in a life where writing letter still a thing. the way Shunji Iwai tell us both story of Hiroko and Fujii is so brilliant it mesmerized me.
the scoring of it was splendid, the melodies of a piano softly played while Hiroko discovered new things about her fiancé, and Fujii recollecting her memories about Fujii. Shunji Iwai you done it again.
for me personally, the film show us how to deal with loss in a various way, how closure come to us in a way we least expected. memories hold a big part of it as well, memories about your loved ones, they clinging in our head until we die, even if you think you forget it, you dont, and the film capture it thoroughly.
PS: we all love Fujii's grandpa, right?
