> ***“don’t you know me? dont you know me by now?”*** i loved this movie i loved it so much and actually me and my cousins recently talked about love and different dynamics, and some of my cousins had agreed to not being quite into slow burn. to me, i didn’t really hate slow burn; i always liked how exciting it gets. > *in this movie, they both agreed to not keep contact until they see each other again, and i think that whole agreement itself was genuinely so important. i don’t think enough people understand how important it is to preserve the time and moments you create with people. especially since jesse and céline had just met and were learning about each other as the night went on, i think keeping contact would’ve changed a lot of what made their connection so special. eventually, they would’ve run out of things to say, and i’m not saying that’s a bad thing inherently, but i don’t understand why so many people feel the need to rush things. sometimes it ruins the beauty of time and love with the people you care about.** > **one of my favorite parts of the movie is when jesse talks about how married couples can get tired of each other to the point where they stop really listening. then, by the end of the movie, céline says something that completely contrasts that idea. she believes that you don’t slowly lose interest in someone you love as you get to know them; instead, you slowly grow to love them more. you start understanding them on such a deep level that you can almost predict what they’d do in a situation before they even finish telling you the story. i thought that was such a beautiful way to look at love.* > i also want to talk about the line,** “why do you think everybody thinks relationships last forever anyway?”** because i remember thinking about it for weeks after watching. i think about the whole “date to marry” argument a lot, where people get upset that others don’t immediately think about marriage when entering a relationship. honestly, i think that’s completely normal. a lot of people have started associating love with permanence, and while marriage is traditionally meant to represent that, divorce exists for a reason. nothing is guaranteed. > i think if you truly love someone, you also have to learn how to let them go. at some point, you will lose the people you love, whether that’s through separation, distance, or simply life taking you in different directions. my point isn’t that you should constantly think about losing your partner. i just think it’s better to live in the moment and appreciate the time you have with someone instead of obsessing over whether you’ll grow old together or spend the rest of your lives with each other. life happens, and sometimes people separate, and that’s okay. overall i loved how intimate and lovely this movie was and i’m not going to watch the trilogy in one sitting because i want the experience to feel more meaningful. i’ve heard it’s the kind of trilogy you’re supposed to grow up with, and that honestly makes me even more excited to see what the next two movies will be like in the future. :D

> ***“man, you dont know me.” > ****“i dont know you?” *** i saw a post around this week talking about how sometimes the reason you miss someone is cause you miss the person you used to be when they were still around. i love how in the third act, we immediately see chiron turn into himself when he and kevin see each other again. i love love loved this movie; every second of it was genuinely worth my time. my heart is still melting; i don’t think i'm gonna move on like ever.

Would've had a higher rating if Billy fucking brown wasn't such an ass. If you romanticize this movie in any way possible, you're probably sick in the head—he constantly degrades Layla, and not only that SHE LETS HIM!! To think that a man wrote this and also the fact that billy brown is a reflection of himself just icks me to the core, it's so disturbing. He doesn't even only harass the girl—he harasses EVERYONE around him, and I bet people will excuse his actions just cause his parents hate him so much. No matter how complex or how deep his history goes, he is still unlikable.. only pros in the movie are that Christina Ricci is here and the cinematography of this film is amazing that it could MAYBE excuse how bad the writing is, but I just can’t brush it off ever. update: Just found out that this movie is about Vincent Gallo’s vision of “the woman of his dreams” and I HATE it more now cause i also just found out that he was practicing abusing Christina Ricci while filming this WHEN SHES PRACTICALLY WHY PPL EVEN LIKE THIS MOVIE!! just cause its a classic DOESN'T mean it should be excused.. You guys are

funny as hell i dont get why ppl think this movie is boring
