Hamnet
i've been meaning to watch Hamnet recently since it has gotten more and more of people's attentions during the awards season. although it's been a long time for it to come out on digital but the wait was absolutely worth it.
I simply adore with the works of Chloé Zhao. her performance in directing for this movie was a complete breakout. her way to get us to feel an empathy for Agnes and William was brilliant enough for me to get me locked in to the screen throughout the film and gave me an understanding towards the feelings and emotions from each character. it was a colossal tragedy unlike any other films i've watched these past few times. i am damaged for what is given to me. That final scene was heartwrenching and yet beautiful.
we mustn't forget Jessie Buckley as well, the core of this movie. Her likeness of being a mother is more than just acting like one. Her soul and heart gives breath a new spirit for Agnes. Her work in this film could not be forgotten. and last but not least Paul Mescal, a brilliantly divine young man with an outstanding gift for acting. Their performance deserves praise and attention!
This might be my new favorite of the year. I have to say this was a remarkable picture to watch. and it simply remind me to appreciate for what my parents have taught throughout my life. I sincerely wanna thank you for Chloé Zhao and the whole cast for giving us to experience what it feels like to be grief and the way to accept them as a part of the human life.
