Overall spoiler free review This is such a good sequel that I personally think is only just about below the first one. The character’s backstories once again are so much fun and fit the Burton style that this film carries. The Gotham remains to be a top 2 Gotham. The Gotham in this and The Batman are both so incredible for their own reasons. Possible spoiler warning The character designs in this are all absolutely amazing. The Penguin is easily the best penguin appearance IN MY OPINION. Comparing the final look to the original sketch shows how accurate to Burton’s mind these films are. The backstory of characters in this are so much fun to me. I love the cat woman scene and I adore the idea that penguin is a tragic villain as he was thrown out by his parents for having deformations. Stories like this fit these films and characters as Tim Burton always said that he finds monsters to be misunderstood. The designs are so close to Burton’s mind and that god for that because the designs are some of my favourites. The stitching on the cat woman suit works so well for me and how could I not mention the Penguin who has this hideous design that makes him the best on screen penguin I have ever seen. Both their personalities are captured in their designs. Batman’s suit is also one of, if not, my favourites as I LOVE the yellow. The cinematography in these films is great. The acting in these films is suprisingly brilliant from some people. Once again the best performance was from the main villain although DeVito’s Penguin has NOTHING on Jack Nicholson’s Joker.

**Overall Spoiler Free Review** This is an extremely good film covering cowardice on the front lines during World War I. A really well acted film with a gripping story. Films like this are why people still adore Stanley Kubrick to this day. His ability to show such dark elements in his films without making the film itself dark is an ability that he tests and capitalises during this picture. I recommend this to all historians as the treatment of soldier’s fear in war ends up being quite an important topic during wars. **Possible spoiler free review** The philosophy of this film is extremely important to me personally because I have been thinking a lot about war recently and this film has currently done the best job at showing how, in war, as the hierarchy goes up, the care for the ones below goes down. People like George have no care for the soldiers they command to fight even in a non suitable condition. As soon as you become important everyone else becomes more irrelevant. I have quoted the words of Bob Dylan for a war film before but I find it even more relevant now. That quote of course is “They’re only a pawn in their game” That court scene will go down as one of my favourite scenes of all time. You know from the start how obvious it is that they will bias against the soldiers yet it still feels so shocking to hear it out loud. The acting is brilliant and I must say that Colonel Dax was a brilliant character and was played excellently by Kirk Douglas. One last short thing that I will end on was how beautiful I found that ending. The whole film was dedicated to soldiers not being seen as people even though they are just as innocent as every other character. To start a scene off with soldiers dehumanising a woman for her appearance created a dense of disgust you see in the men so that you are astonished to see them connect with the woman through song and end up all together humming in unison showing that soldiers are just people.

**Overall spoiler free review** This is a is a terribly underrated film. The highlight is of the film for me was the extremely fun Henry Powell. I loved every second of this film. I recommend to people who love a good family classic film. **Possible spoiler warning** This will be a very short review because this is simply a film that anyone can enjoy without much meaning or details. The acting is irrelevant as it is not brilliant but works perfectly for the film. The cinematography is admirable The villain Henry Powell was absolutely brilliant and will go down as one of my favourite villains ever. I loved a villain who tricks rather than fights and Henry does just that fine. Him hiding his wickedness through God feels like you can definitely get a moral message out of him if you are seeking it.
